Major Accomplishments

Rhizlaine Benachir is a consulting expert in the field of the promotion of equality and women' rights in Morocco. For over 20 years, she has been an associate within the Cabinet’s “Human Cap Consulting”, with a mission to work for the development, evolution of potential, and performance of Women, Men, and Organizations.

Benachir has been involved as founder, former president, and current vice president of the NGO Jossour Forum of Moroccan Women, which was granted with ECOSOC status by the UN. She has also been a member of the NGO X Lance, the Association of Moroccan Woman, the Arab Women Network, and Karama. Additionally, she has served as the Special Assistant of the Director of the Social Development Agency, Head of the Human Resources Dept. of the Social Development Agency, and Head of the Dept. of International Cooperation.

Early on, from 2003-2009, Benachir was politically involved as the Elected Municipal of the Council of the District of Souissi/Rabat. In 2006, she became the National Coordinator of the National Board of Coordination, with renewed bodies of Jossour FFM in 2009. From 2011-2015, Benachir facilitated round table talks and national symposiums on the political participation of women, under the ABA project “Advocating and raising awareness on implementing gender equality,” and under the American Embassy project “History of Women’s Movement.” She was also a coordinator and trainer with the U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) to help young students strengthen their capacities in the field of women’s rights and advocacy.

Benachir has been a Member of the Council as Deputy Secretary, Member of the Finance Committee and Economic Development, and Member of the Committee of Planning, Environment and Equipment, as well as part of the supervisory committee for the implementation of the civic platform to promote the culture of Human Rights, CCDH. She is also a Member of the Administrative Commission of the Socialist Party, National Union of Popular Forces USFP, Member of the International Relations Commission of the USFP and has worked on a study, "Assessment of Mechanisms for the Promotion of Political Representation in Morocco” in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation, to promote women’s political participation. Currently, Benachir is National Coordinator of the Women as Partners in Progress project.
