Major Accomplishments

Neila Chaabane is a jurist, academician, politician, and the Dean of the Faculty of Legal, Political, and Social Sciences at the University of Carthage. She was Secretary of State for Women, Children and Family Affairs from 2014 to 2015.
Chaabane's career is rich with a diversity of experiences. Between 2002 and 2011, she was a member of the scientific council, responsible for the professional master of tax law; and she became in 2009 assistant professor in public law. In 2011, she was appointed a member of the National Investigation Commission on Corruption and Malpractice and Head of Public Law Department. In 2012, she became Associate Lecturer in Public Law and, in 2013, Vice-Dean of Tunisia's first Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Sciences.

Between 1996 and 2012, she was treasurer of the Tunisian Association of Constitutional Law, treasurer of the International Academy of Constitutional Law in 1997, vice-president of the Tunisian Association of Constitutional Law in 2013, and President of the Tunisian Association of Constitutional Law in 2014.
