Dr. Raghida Dergham is a successful Lebanese journalist. At the age of 14, she had already published in Al Hasna magazine, and left to the United States at the age of 17. She has a degree in creative writing and journalism from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Following her graduation, Dergham moved to Boston where she began "Haneen Nostalgia", a radio program. Currently, Dergham is a Columnist, Senior Diplomatic Correspondent, and New York Bureau Chief for the London-based Al Hayat, an independent Arabic daily. She writes a weekly column on international political affairs, which commenced when she was Chief U.S. Correspondent for Al Hawadet Magazine.
Dergham is known for her interviews of international leaders and public figures. She is also Founder and Executive Chairwoman of the Beirut Institute, an indigenous, independent, inter-generational think tank for the Arab region with a global reach. An authority on strategic international relations, Dergham is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and an Honorary Fellow at the Foreign Policy Association. She served on the International Media Council of the World Economic Forum, and is a member of the Development Advisory Committee of the IAP- the Global Network of Science Academies. She is also the Dean of the International Media at the United Nations. In addition to working as a political analyst for NBC and MSNBC, she appeared regularly on CNN and other international broadcasts. Dergham's work has been featured in many major publications including: The New York Times, The Washington Post, LA Times, Newsweek International, and several others. She is the recipient of numerous lifetime achievement awards.
