Women’s Cultural and Social Society (WCSS)

Description

The Women's Cultural and Social Society (WCSS) is the first women's NGO in Kuwait, and was established on February 3, 1963. In December 2003, the United Nations awarded WCSS the consultative status of a special category with the UN's Economic and Social Council. Its goals and objectives are to develop women's rights and to raise women's awareness of their duties and challenges. It serves the community and focuses on numerous social and cultural issues. It also promotes volunteering and encourages youth involvement in the community.
