National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR)

Description

The National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR) was founded in 2005 by a group of activists interested in establishing the basic principles of human rights, democracy, citizenship and peace building and targeting the most vulnerable of them, especially women and children, over the long term, in various regions of Iraq.
NIHR has acquired strong skills in human rights education and conflict management. NIHR has specialised in building the capacity of the population for better understanding human rights frameworks and acquiring skills to manage conflict. Their projects include: mobilizing youth for peace projects, rebuilding Iraq through peace in 2010, the youth umbrella for peace and investment in Anbar in 2012, and enhancing minority rights in Iraq.
